Pure 60s – The #1 Hits

UTV Records

5 stars

You’d be hard pressed to find a better selection of material that covers the wide variety of music that came out in the 1960s. This 26 song CD brings you through a decade of music chronologically kicking off with Dion DiMucci’s 1961 classic “Runaround Sue” and closing out with the Greene County Gold show closer “Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye” by Steam. PURE 60’s has something for everyone – kids will recognize “The Lion Sleeps Tonight” (The Tokens) and the original “I’m A Believer” (The Monkees). Motown fans will move to hits like “Please Mr. Postman” and “Stop! In the Name of Love.” For those who’s mantras were “Make Love, Not War” there’s the Beach Boys “Good Vibrations” and Strawberry Alarm Clock’s “Incense and Peppermints”. Every song on this CD went #1 and this collection should go #1 on your listening list.
