Carl Wilson
Founding member of The Beach Boys
1941-1998
Carl Wilson, one of the founding members of the California pop group, the Beach Boys, has died. He was 51.
The group’s publicist Alyson Dutch said the guitarist, who sang lead vocal on one of the group’s biggest hits “Good Vibrations”, died in Los Angeles Friday evening of complications from lung cancer. His wife Gina and sons Jonah, 28, and Justin, 26, were with him when he died, but the other surviving members of the band — his brother Brian Wilson, cousin Mike Love and Al Jardine — were not.
